Belfast got 400 new jobs last week when Canadian company Bombardier announced that it will build parts of its new Learjet 40 at its Shorts ‘rospace factory in the city. The Learjet 40 can carry four passengers over 1,800-mile distances.

Since the Sept. 1h terror attacks, it has been reckoned that as many as 1,000 jobs were lost in Belfast’s ‘rospace industry.

The round of job cuts at Shorts was one of the biggest single losses of jobs in Northern Ireland in decades

Shorts is Northern Ireland’s largest private sector employer.
