DUBLIN — Six hundred new jobs were announced last week by the Irish government — 400 in e-business in Dublin and 200 making communications products in County Clare.
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern opened a new international e-business center for the global software giant Oracle, which will create 400 jobs at East Point in Dublin.
Oracle, which was established in Ireland in 1987, is the world’s second largest software company and has annual revenues of $9.1 billion.
The new jobs will bring the number employed by Oracle in Ireland to almost 1,000.

speak French, German, Italian and Spanish. It will deal with accounting, purchasing, licensing and expenses for Oracle operations in 35 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Tanaiste Mary Harney also opened a new German-owned telecommunications plant in Shannon, Co Clare. Teles Ireland will create 200 jobs over the next three years.
