A message from Boston Irish Reporter publisher Edward W. Forry

February 17, 2011

Today’s event also signals a new and growing business alliance between the New York-based Irish Echo and its owners, the Belfast Media Group, and the Boston Irish Reporter, a publication of the Boston Neighborhood News group, a family-owned multicultural media company. It is with a sense of great pride that I join today with our media colleagues to host today’s second annual Golden Bridges Awards luncheon. This shared meal and honors presentation is the culminating event of the “Gateways to Tomorrow” conference, building bridges between Boston and Northwest Ireland, and symbolic of our shared passion for the cultural values of the island of Ireland and our great homeland.
At the Boston Irish Reporter, we live by the slogan, “We tell the stories of Boston’s Irish.” Today’s honorees are some of Boston’s very best in their fields, and each is well deserving of the public recognition that is theirs today. To all of them we say, “Congratulations, and thank you for all that you do.”
