Suffice it to say, the forty men and woman who were selected from a larger pool of nominees exemplify the very best that Irish America has to offer.
There is, of course, an element of subjectivity in choosing the forty. Those who did not make the final list this year are themselves standout individuals in so many ways. But it remains the case that the contributions that people make in the lead up to what is still considered a landmark in life are characterized by a particular verve and youthful energy, the kind of verve and energy that, on a national scale, will be necessary to bring about a return to better times.
