After Irish triumph ‘Guerin’ reaches U.S.

The film reworks the same material as John MacKenzie’s film of three years ago, “When The Sky Falls,” a fictionalized account of Guerin’s life, and follows on from the trio of films made about Dublin gang leader Martin Cahill — John Boorman’s “The General,” Thaddeus O’Sullivan’s “Ordinary Decent Criminals,” and David Blair’s made-for-TV drama “Vicious Circle.”
The previous version of the Guerin story starred Joan Allen as Sin
