The veteran comedian just found out that his radio show, “World Request,” has been axed by the suits at Ireland’s Lyric FM.
Keogh has been a familiar voice to Irish radio listeners since the 1960s, when he began a 31-year run as host of RTE Radio’s “Music for Middlebrows.” Four years ago, he began presenting “World Request,” which was also enthusiastically received, according to the Irish Independent. But recent changes in station management at Lyric FM have brought about a number of programming changes, and Keogh is apparently just the first big-name talker to get his walking papers. But that could leave the way clear for him to come back to New York . . . and his “Love”-hungry fans.
