Ahern, Adams differ on unity timetable

The taoiseach said during a visit to Belfast that his “ambitions for this island” were very clear. The agenda of the Irish Government was the agenda of the Good Friday agreement.
“There is no other agenda, the constitutional question is now settled.” Many people, he said, “including myself, aspire to a united Ireland. But it will not happen without the consent of the people of Northern Ireland.”
