Police said the thieves took two Northern Bank executives and their families hostage on Sunday evening and forced them to help gain access to the vault after the bank closed on Monday evening.
Police were notified of the incident late Monday night, hours after the money had been taken. They estimate the haul was carried out between 6 and 8 p.m.
