Eugene (Gene) G. McCarthy is a first-generation Irish American, whose parents hailed from Co. Kerry. He lives on the East Side of Manhattan with his wife, Sheila. They have two children, Deb and Jim, and three grandchildren.
McCarthy’s business career has been in the fields of insurance, financial and estate planning. He also does consulting work for insurance and brokerage companies. He is a member of The Society of Financial Service Professionals, The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and holds the following professional designations: CLU, ChFC, RHU, RFC.
Active in the Irish and Irish-American community, McCarthy is a member of The Knights of St. Patrick and The Ireland-U.S. Council for Commerce & Industry. He is an active supporter of Concern, The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation and The Irish Arts Center. He serves on the St. Jerome School Advisory Board.
