By Staff Reporter

Peggy McBrien O’Connor is the daughter of Rose Maguire and Joseph McBrien, natives of Co. Fermanagh. She has been happily married for 48 years to Edward O’Connor, native of St. Nicholas of Tolentine. They have 4 children: Deirdre, Maura, Daniel and Sheila, and eight grandchildren.
O’Connor attended Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School, St. Barnabas High School and Our Lady of Good Counsel College in White Plains, New York. She received her Masters degree from Patterson State College, Wayne, New Jersey.
O’Connor has relished the many roles she has played in life: as daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and Kindergarten teacher in Fairfield, CT. Recently retired from teaching, she is now a part-time reading tutor in the Bridgeport School System supporting children who need extra help with skills. She is an active member of Fairfield’s 6,000 member Gaelic American Club, and the host of the Irish Melodies radio program, which is broadcast from Fairfield University every Sunday on 88.5 FM from noon to 2:00 p.m. She was selected as Woman Of Substance in the Connecticut Post newspaper.
