Big Apple Feis brings the beat of dancing feet

Founders Unateresa Sheahan Gormley and Gerard Carson, along with their committee, FeisWeb, Alan Schrader and Jim Montague, and Feis secretary, Karen Murphy, organized the event that was seen as a competitive dress rehearsal in anticipation of the World Championships which will take place in Philadelphia on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5
Anna O’Sullivan was this year’s Special Honoree, one of the six founding members of the Irish Dancing Teachers Association of North America in March 1964. She shared her philosophy with the Irish Echo a piece of of advice that she always gives her students: “The most important thing in Irish dance is the friends you make.”
