DUBLIN — Bank of Ireland is linking up with the Nova Corporation, one of America’s largest credit-card processing companies, in a financial services venture that will create about 500 jobs over the next four years.

The joint venture will be based outside Dublin, with the location still to be finalized in negotiations with the IDA.

The new company, EiroConex, will specialize in credit card and e-commerce payments via the Internet, targeting Ireland initially and then the UK and continental Europe.

The Atlanta-based Nova is the third-largest provider of payments server in the US, specializing in the retailers and the small business market.
