Seamus Boyle has been chosen as grand marshal of the 2010 Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day parade.
Boyle, who arrived in New York from his native Armagh in 1954, has long made Philadelphia his American home.
Boyle is currently serving his first two-year term as AOH National President and is expected to seek a second term next summer.
He was elected with strong backing from rank and file members at the order’s 94th biennial convention which was held in July, 2008 in New Orleans.
Boyle has been active in Irish community affairs and issues in Philadelphia and, through the Hibernians, throughout the U.S., for decades.
