“When Irish Northern Aid and the AOH Freedom for All Ireland Committee brought the delegation from Relatives for Justice, victims from both the Catholic and Protestant Communities, to meet members in Congress in 2007, that meeting was the first exposing the fact that collusion had victimized both working class communities during the Troubles,” said Boyle.
The hearing will feature testimony from, among others, Raymond McCord, Sr., a Protestant and unionist from Belfast whose son, Raymond Jr., was murdered by loyalists, and Nuala O’Loan, former Police Ombudsman in Northern Ireland.
“We would like to recognize the Irish National Caucus and its president, Father Sean McManus, for its part in the effort to expose collusion and aid in arranging this hearing with the Human Rights and Oversight Committee,” said Boyle who is also urging Hibernians to show up at least 30 minutes before the hearing starts.
The hearing, before the House Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights and Oversight, will be held in Room 2172, Rayburn House Office Building on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m.
