Pitt has done everything but sign on the bottom line to play the lead in Jordan’s film, “Ned Kelly.” The story is based on the exploits of the real-life Australian outlaw, who terrorized the Outback in the 19th century. The only problem is that, at 39, Pitt may be too old to play Kelly, who went to that big holding cell in the sky at the tender age of 25. We say, truth, schmooth — just give Brad lots of scenes where he has to remove his shirt, and we wouldn’t care if he were playing Alice in Wonderland.
Elvis has left the building
Sad note: Elvis Costello and his wife of 16 years, ex-Pogues singer Cait O’Riordan, have decided to end their marriage. The pair met in 1985 when Costello produced the Pogues’ classic “Rum, Sodomy and the Lash.” According to a joint statement, the parting is “amicable.”
