Bronx Soccer Burke’s goal lifts Parlour Moms

The teams traded opportunities in the early going, with Parlour Mom’s Karen Rich and Beal Bocht’s Siobhan Harvey narrowly missing.

Parlour Moms turned the tide on 55 minutes. With the ball building from the back, Lisa Burke took off on a solo run, split the Beal Bocht defense and scored the decider.

Beal Bocht’s last chance was squandered when Mary Touhey’s shot into the net was disallowed because of an off-the-ball foul on 65 minutes.

Best For Beal Bocht: Pauline Boylan, Mary Touhey, Beth higgins. Best For Parlour Moms: Karen rich, Lisa Burke, Sheri Lawson.

Fagan’s 2, Velocity 0

Fagan’s went attacking from kick-off and scored early when Ann Murray took a pass from Angie Allen, turned her defender and scored.

Velocity nearly pulled one back on 30 minutes, but Regina Nojman’s shot was well saved, and again at 50 minutes when Danielle Neve’s shot skittered over the crossbar.

On 65 minutes, Fagan’s Lisa Dorrian collected Monica Slevin’s rebound and buried the ball in the back of the net.

Best for Fagans: Monica Slevin, Angie Allen, Lisa Dorrian. Best for Velocity: Danielle Nevem, Lesley Armtage, Regina Nevem.

Lansdowne 4, Fiona’s 0

League leaders Lansdowne put four passed Fiona’s, beginning with Julie Enright’s goal 10 minutes into the game. Fiona’s almost knotted it at 1 10 minutes later when Ashley Berrill’s shot went just wide.

Ann-Marie Flynn, Bernie Boyle and Loretta Duffy also scored for the winners.

Best for lansdwone: Julie Enright, Anee-Marie Flynn, Loretta. Best For Fionas Michelle Davis, Erin Treacy, Fiona Ward.

Harps 2, J.J. Gilligan’s 1

Harps got on the board early onAlison Kaye’s goal, then withstood a Gilligan’s barrage that included a 25-yard free kick from Marlese Faith that cleared the wall and was stopped by Miriam Peters.

Later, Jennifer Trennova scored the winning goal as J.J. Gilligan’s Teresa Doyle beat two defenders to pull her team to within one.

Best For Harps: Miriam Peters, Siobhan O’Neill, Karen Shalvey. Best For Gilligans: Mary Lynn, Teresa Doyle, Marlese Faith.
