Bronx Soccer O’Sullivan helps Gilligan’s edge Harp

Both teams had early opportunities, but it wasn’t until the 20-minute mark that Gilligan’s Olivia Murphy scored off a pass from Melissa Peskin. The winners improved their lead at 33 minutes when Silvia Chavec won a throw-in, gathered the ball took a shot from the sideline.

Fagan’s scored the first two goals of the second half, the second on a nice chip by Justine Clifford. Chavec, however, put Gilligan’s back on the board with a nice run down the line in which she cut two defenders. Fagan’s rallied to tie it again on 63 minutes on Justine Clifford’s goal.

Looking like a 3-3 draw, Gilligan’s went forward for the last time. Deirdre O’Sullivan played a 1-2 with Theresa Doyle, and when O’Sullivan received the return she ran down the line took a shot high into back of net.

Best for Fagan’s — Justine Clifford, Rosie Downey.

Parlour Moms 3, Lansdowne 1

Parlour Moms advanced to the winter league playoffs. Loraine Toner scored on 20 minutes to give Parlour Mom’s a lead that Lansdowne’s Fiona Ward erased 10 minutes later when her shot from the edge of box found the back of the net.

Parlour Moms cemented the victory in the second half as Lisa Burke struck twice.

Best for Lansdowne — Megan Flynn, Fiona Ward, Katie McGrail.

Harps 5, Velocity 0

Nancy Manferdonia, Alyson Kaye (2), Pauline Dillon and Karen Shalvey each scored for Harps.

Best for Harps — Chris Gallaher, Miriam Peters, Nancy Manferdonia.

Best for Velocity — Erica Rodriguez, Laura Rizzo, Duffy Connolly.

Beal Bocht 2, Fiona’s 2

On 30 minutes Fiona’s won a corner and Erin Treacy took it and scored. The score remain 1-0 until 55 minutes, when the referee called a handball in the box again Fiona’s. Mary McEvoy converted for Beal Bocht to knot the score. On 60 minutes, Fiona’s went forward with a throw in. The ball reached Ann Ryan, who turned her defender and scored, making it 2-1 to Fionas. On 66 minutes, Mary Touhey put Beal Bocht in the playoff with a vital tying goal.

Best for Beal Bocht — Brenda Walsh, Mary McEvoy, Siobhan Brennan.
