Bronx women’s soccer: Lansdowne, Harps victorious

Lansdowne 2, Velocity 1

Lansdowne, despite having only nine players, defeated a full-strength Velocity team in a first-round Cup game at the weekend. Christine Many and Bernie Boyle scored for the winners, both coming in the first half.

Harps 4, Ned Devine’s 3

Lisa Burke scored two of the Harps goals and teammate Theresa Brink added one on a header off a corner kick in a victory over Ned Devine’s. Sandra Swinburne scored the fourth off a cross from Theresa Brink.

In the third game, Parlour Moms topped Sean Og’s, 1-0.

The Cup resumes with second-round games on July 13. Parlour Moms will play Beal Bocht and Harps will face Lansdowne.
