Bronx Women’s Soccer McEvoy lifts Beal Bocht

Beal Bocht 3, Velocity 1

On 20 minutes, Beal Bocht’s Siobhan Brennan passed to Jeanie Rynne, who passed back to Brennan, who shot to the back of the net. Velocity got into the game and Regina Newman passed to Duffy Connolly, whose shot was well saved by Breda O’Neill. Then on 30 minutes, Belocity broke through on Regina Nejman’s goal.

The second half started with Beal Bocht putting pressure on the Velocity defense. On 55 minutes a hand ball given Beal Bocht won the free kick on the edge of the ball. Mary McEvoy took the free, buried it to the back of the net, 2-1 to Beal Bocht. On 65 minutes, McEvoy buried a 25-yard free kick to make it 3-1.

Best for Beal Bocht were Mary McEvoy, Jennie Rynne and Siobhan Brennan. Best for Velocity were Jenny Millar and Regina Nejman.

Harps 1, Parlour Moms 1

On 25 minutes, Harps’ Karen Shalvey received the ball from Jennifer Terranova, ran down the right wing and her shot beat th4 keeper high, making it 1-0 at the half.

But on 65 minutes Parlour Moms went forward and the ball reached Carol Skriloff on the left wing. She crossed the ball and there was Joan Madden, who rose in the air to get her head onto the ball and scored.

Best for Harps were Karen Shalvey, Teresa Brink and Miriam Peters. Best for Parlour Moms were Carol Skriloff, Maggie Bradley and Joan Madden.

Lansdowne 3, J.J. Gilligan’s 1

On 10 minutes Gilligan’s Maudy Lynn passed to Sliva Erygues, who ran down the right wing then crossed the ball to Olivia Murphy, who tapped the ball into the net. Lansdowne went forward but with some good Gilligans defense failed to score. Lansdowne, however, responded with a goal from Stephanie Bliss at 30 minutes

On 55 Ellen McGrail converted a corner to make it 2-1 Lansdowne. Then on 65 minutes, Nina McGrail took a pass from Melissa Mann, turned her defender and scored. Best for Gilligans were Olivia Murphy, Maudy Lynn and Breda McCrohan. Best for Lansdowne were Nora McGrail, Stephanie Bliss and Megan Flynn.

Fiona’s 3, Fagan’s 2

Fiona’s broke through a minute before haltime as Erin Treacy passed to Ann Ryan, who scored. In the second half, Amy Malloy scored to make it 2-0, but Fagan’s rallied on two goals by Petrona Ariola. Then, with two minutes left, Fiona’s Tracey scored her second goal to give her team the victory.

Best for Fionas were Amy Molloy, Erin Treacy and Ann Ryan. Best for Fagans — Monica Slevin, Mary Carney and Petrona Ariola.
