The 1999 Gov. Hugh L. Carey Challenge Cup golf tournament will take place Oct. 12 at The Maidstone Club, East Hampton, N.Y. The beneficiary will be the MGA Foundation, a charitable organization. The competition is held in conjunction with the Golfing Union of Ireland and the Metropolitan Golf Association.
The tournament, which alternates between the U.S. and Ireland, takes place during two days and is preceded by a corporate "AM-AM" competition pairing each of the 16 players with three amateurs.
