DUBLIN — A host of Hollywood celebrities are coming to the aid of a campaign in the west of Ireland to raise a millennium million pounds to set up a heart unit in Galway.

Movie stars like Sean Connery, Liam Neeson, Angelica Huston and Gabriel Byrne have all donated some of their clothes to Croi, a charity whose point man in the U.S. is former Echo advertising director Barry Lynch

The donations have been organized by Gabriel Byrne, who agreed to become a patron of the charity after his mother, Eileen, received heart treatment in Galway’s University College Hospital.

"It’s fantastic Gabriel has helped out. He got everything for us," said Croi’s Fionnula White.

"We have an autographed jacket worn by Sean Connery in "The Rock," the dress worn by Angelica Huston as Morticia in "The Addams Family," the red linen shirt worn by Gabriel in "The Usual Suspects" and an autographed baseball cap worn by Liam Neeson when he went to the Oscars ceremony.
