Checking baggage will cost more

Passengers traveling with Ryanair, Aer Lingus and British Midland now have to pay a charge for each piece of luggage. The two former airlines are following Ryanair, which introduced the charge, in encouraging people to carry less, said to help fast plane turn-around times.
However, consumer groups say the move is to make more money from passengers through “stealth charges” despite the promise of low flights.
