Cheers for the Bronx

Among the 25 honorees chosen as the Irish Echo?s best of the Bronx 2008 were two distinguished authors, two university presidents, a firefighter, a world-renowned musician, a teacher who has helped her students realize their dreams, three past NYC St. Patrick?s Day Grand Marshals, members of the clergy, two radio hosts and homemaker whose influence has been felt by two generations of Irish immigrants.
The reception gave the honorees a chance to catch up with one another, and to share memories of growing up in, or working in, the city?s mainland borough. The evening?s special guest speaker, Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carri
