Fortunately, there is one Hollywood superstar who feels your pain (or is that paint?) And he?d be happy to wash your ride. For a price, that is.
A-list actor George Clooney has offered to wash cars to raise money for his father?s congressional campaign. Interested parties will need deep pockets — George won?t even ring out his rag for less than $4,000 — and be willing to get the jalopy within rinsing distance of his California mansion.
George is taking this very hands-on approach to help his father, Democratic candidate Nick Clooney, secure a congressional spot from his home state of Kentucky. The elder Clooney, 69, is a political novice but has been in the public eye for years, as a writer, TV host and the brother of the late singer Rosemary Clooney.
Nick?s loyal son says that he?ll do almost anything to see his father get elected, and recently sent out invitations to a fundraiser.
?I?m having a cocktail party at my house,? he wrote to prospective donors. ?And I?ll wash your car every week . . . and Armor-All the tires in a toga.?
Hmmmm . . . Getting the car detailed by a professional: under $50. Electing a demi-celebrity to congress: a couple million bucks. Seeing George Clooney in a toga, up close and personal: priceless.
