The hunky actor says that when he’s finished dating starlets and — oh yeah — acting, he’ll return home to Dublin. His plan: to open a pub. Presumably, the kind where everybody knows your name.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced this year’s Oscar nominees and the list carries only a few surprises. Daniel Day-Lewis got a nod in the Best Actor category for his mesmerizing performance in “Gangs of New York.” The picture received 10 nominations in all, in the categories of Art Direction, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Film Editing, Music (Song), Best Picture, Sound and Writing (Original Screenplay). Among the “Gang” contenders are the members of U2, who wrote and performed the film’s closing song, “The Hands that Built America.”
Leading the pack with the most nominations is “Chicago,” the film adaptation of the Broadway revival. John C.
