Concern for missing woman

McGuinn’s mother became concerned by evening last Wednesday and reported her daughter missing. A police spokesperson in White Plains said there is deep concern for the well being of the 21-year-old McGuinn, who is an Iona College student.
Her father, Francis McGuinn, was a Cantor Fitzgerald executive killed in the attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, and she is the first recipient of a scholarship created for the children of the 15 Iona College alumni killed in the terror attacks.
“There are no new developments,” said the spokesperson, appealing for the general public to help if they recognize McGuinn or recall seeing her.
McGuinn is 5 feet 7 inches tall and 145 pounds. Her hair is red and her eyes brown, according to the police’s missing-person poster.
Video cameras showed McGuinn making purchases at a Mobil gas station around midnight on Sept. 30 on North Avenue in downtown New Rochelle. After that, her movements are unknown. Her vehicle was discovered the following morning.
Police said the Explorer was locked and contained her cell phone, keys, wallet and personal effects. McGuinn’s mother and two younger sisters are said to be “devastated” by her disappearance.
The car was parked between exits 16 and 17, a marshy area, the police spokesperson said. Dogs and police officers on foot searched the area last week and helicopters have been used as well, but so far there have been no leads.
According to her mother, it was not unusual for McGuinn to stay out late with friends. McGuinn is a avid punk music fan and sometimes went to see the Ruffians band perform at Rocky Sullivan’s in Manhattan.
A band member said that she was an “incredibly generous” person.
Westchester County police have asked anyone with any information on McGuinn to call them at (914) 422-6200 or (914) 422-6006, or the New Jersey State Police at (973) 344-1099.
