Construction fuels Republic economy: report

Figures released by the Irish Central Statistics Office in its latest report, Construction and Housing in Ireland, also show that housing now accounts for two-thirds the total output of construction, compared to a half in 2000. Construction activity now accounts for 20% of Gross Domestic Product.
