There has been a 13 percent increase in crime committed against business in the 12 months to May 2004.
Fewer than one in 10 business owners believed crimes committed against them would be solved.
ISME has called for the establishment of a national forum on crime, comprised of garda and business representatives, “with a specific mandate to investigate the extent and impact of crime against business.”
It is also urging mandatory sentencing for those committing crimes against businesses.
