Stark, who is 42, arrived at base camp a little more than a week ago and has already started on the trek with partner Noel Hanna, who is 38.
According to Stark’s schedule, the pair will reach the summit in a total of about 40 days, barring weather delays.
In January, Stark climbed Argentina’s Aconcagua, South America’s highest mountain at 22,800 feet.
Stark also has numerous desert treks under her belt and participates in annual adventure races that wind through different continent’s ecosystems.
But the Mt. Everest trip is not only to satisfy Stark’s inner thrill seeker. The climb will raise money for Barnardo’s Northern Ireland charity.
Barnardo’s is the UK’s largest children’s charity, which annually helps over 90,000 children who face abuse, homelessness and poverty.
Stark hopes to raise
