Druids Glen is Europe’s top resort

The K Club in Kildare, venue for the 2006 Ryder Cup matches, was also shortlisted for the award, along with Turnberry and Gleneagles in Scotland, Celtic Manor in Wales and Montecastillo in Spain.
Druids Glen, which has been enhanced by the recent addition of a second course known as Druids Heath, also hosted the Seve Trophy in 2002.
“At a time when there is so much discussion about value for money amid rising costs,” said Ireland’s minister for Sport, John O?Donoghue, “it is encouraging that this outside judgment shows that Ireland is still able to give that value on top of our friendly and excellent customer service.”
