Rovers were the better team but this game ended in heartbreak as they lost on penalties. Ironically, it was the man of the match, Liam Flanagan, who missed the crucial kick, but Rovers can be proud as Owen MacPartland and Dean Gibson ran the midfield, and Conal Fadden scored two suberb goals, one from a free kick, and another from long range.

ROVERS OVER 30A 3, OLYMPIACOS 1
Rovers advanced with a hard fought win. Dave Quigley volleyed home a Tom Ruane cross to open the scoring, but Steve Waizeneger scored an own goal to tie the score at halftime. Rovers battled hard and eventually goals from Colm Sanders and Paul McGlynn saw them home.

ROVERS OVER 30B 4, EAST MEADOW 2
Andy Geary was the star of this performance, as Tommy Shelvey scored two fine goals, and Sean Deacy finally put Rovers ahead. Alan Monahan completed the scoring for Joe McGreevy
