Echo Editorial: Memories of Jack and John

February 17, 2011

By Staff Reporter

John Thornton and Jack Holland have not been around to answer but it’s a funny thing, the questions are frequently asked anyway, often with a muttered complaint of where are they both when we need them.
This is because old friends like John T. And Jack are never really fully absent.
Their spirits linger and their words yet resonate. We can still hear their witticisms and criticisms, their laughs and favorite complaints, their joy when they have nailed down a really good story.
At this time of the year John and Jack speak a little louder to us because it was in May two years ago that they went from us.
But not entirely. Never entirely.
Beyond the words they wrote there were the words they spoke. And they echo still.
