The Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the U.S. will hold its annual awards dinner on June 28 in the K Club in Kildare. During the event, which will be hosted by Dr. Michael Smurfit, chairman and CEO of the Jefferson Smurfit Group, outstanding American firms which have contributed to Ireland’s economic success will be honored by ICCUSA and the Irish Echo.
The Irish Echo will issue a special edition of its magazine supplement, "IE," which will be devoted to business. The newspaper collaborated with the Irish magazine Business & Finance, the Irish Industrial Development Authority, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the UK, and Enterprise Ireland.
The magazine, which will appear in the June 28 issue of the Echo, will include a listing of the Irish Echo’s "Leading U.S. Companies in Ireland" sponsored by ICCUSA. Also included is a listing of U.S. companies in Northern Ireland and Irish companies in the U.S.
During the awards dinner in the K Club, executives of the top 10 companies will be presented with special awards by Irish Echo publisher and president Claire O’Gara Grimes and the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland, Michael Sullivan.
"Poised on the cusp of lucrative European markets, Ireland has it all, according to the almost 400 American companies which have a presence in Ireland," Grimes said. "It’s understandable why we feel their business is our business."
In addition to the awards dinner, ICCUSA will sponsor seminars and private sessions, in Dublin and Belfast, on venture capital sources. ICCUSA members with experience of operating in Ireland will take part in these meetings together with government officials and senior corporate managers.
