Douglass chairs the Downtown Alliance, which promotes the area as a world class destination for companies, workers, residents and visitors.
A senior attorney with the Global Corporate Department of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, Douglass recently retired as chairman of the Board of Clearstream International, the Luxembourg-based international securities clearing and settlement organization.
With a background in the private sector at the Chase Manhattan Corporation, and in public service as secretary to Governor Nelson Rockefeller, Douglass is an esteemed figure in the New York business community. He boasts both Scots Irish and Irish American lineage and is a strong supporter of many Irish causes, including the Famine Memorial in Battery Park.
Also recognized at the annual business luncheon will be Mary Louise Mallick, Deputy Comptroller of New York State, which recently announced a $30 million pension fund investment in Northern Ireland, and three Irish American principals of Market Resource Partners, the Philadelphia firm recently bought by First Derivatives of Newry, County Down.
The Irish Echo Index, with premier sponsor KPMG, salutes the 30 top U.S.-Ireland companies. The firms are included in the listing based on their performance, excellence of product and future potential.
