Farrell connected in the 10th, 20th and 35th minutes in his last appearance for the Rocks in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League before relocating to San Diego.
The versatile Bingo O’Driscoll (36th) was the other scorer as Shamrock (3-8-2, 11) hauled themselves off the bottom in Division One (West).
John Guildea’s side is engaged in a desperate fight for survival in the CSL top flight and is now six points behind the safety zone with a game in hand to third from the bottom Polonia (17).
The two last place teams go down in the West.
“We’re doing well but we’re running out of games,” said Guildea.
“The form is not bad. We have three wins and a draw from our last five games.”
The Shamrock reserves lost 3-1 with Peter getting the visitors’ only goal.
Meanwhile, Astoria Gaels (5-7-2, 17) produced an Ireland-like performance against SC Ukrainians in their final match of the season, blowing a 2-0 lead in a 2-2 tie at Verrazano.
Nestor Allen (10th) and John Rabbit (20th) had Gaels ahead at the interval, but strikes by Kendon Garland (46th) and Leon Duane (75th) earned Ukrainians a share of the points.
It was nonetheless a successful rookie season in Division Two for Gaels who ended up finishing fourth.
“We were probably unlucky (against Ukrainians). But it was a good finish to the year,” acknowledged Gaels’ Niall Sugrue.
Andy O’Mahoney and Michael Coyle, with a great strike from outside the area, according to Sugrue, were on target for Astoria reserves.
