He is a native of Glencolumcille in Co. Donegal and is the director of one of the most successful cultural tourism businesses in Ireland called “Oideas Gael,” based in his native parish, which draws large numbers of adult students from across the U.S. and Europe to courses in Irish language and culture in the Donegal Gaeltacht. He was appointed for a second term as Chairman of _dar_s na Gaeltachta by the Irish Government in 2005.
