Government defends Celia Larkin selection amid cries of cronyism

Celia Larkin will serve on the interim 12-person board of the National Consumer Agency.
The NCA is a new non-profit agency charged with consumer protection, and was formed after a national task force recommended its inception.
Ahern’s department nominated Larkin, prompting opposition parties to question the move.
Board members were informed of the appointment via e-mail this week, but her appointment will be officially announced later this week by M
