DUBLIN — Former Taoiseach Charles Haughey has returned to his Kinsealy home after spending 11 days in Beaumont Hospital following his collapse last month with a life-threatening heart condition.
Haughey, who is 75, gave no interviews and was not photographed when he was discharged.
There were fears that the former taoiseach, who is suffering from prostate cancer, would not survive following a collapse at his home on March 19.
Haughey’s poor health was outlined in a medical report handed to the Moriarty Tribunal investigating his finances last year. It resulted in his testimony being taken in private rather than public sessions.
He had finished giving his evidence and was relaxing with family and friends on the St. Patrick’s weekend when he was taken ill.
