The Boston GAA will kick off the 2000 season on Sunday, April 2, at noon on the grounds of the new Irish center in Canton. A five-game schedule is planned, starting with Aidan McAnespies taking on The Shannon Blues. This will be a repeat of last year’s semifinal, which took two games to decide the winner.
In 1999’s first semifinal, which ended all square at 3-8 to 1-14, the Blues came out on top in the second game on a score of 2-10 to 1-7. A repeat performance by these two teams makes for a perfect start to the football season.
Here is the rest of Sunday’s fixtures:
€ 1 p.m., Cork vs. Galway
€ 2 p.m., Donegal vs. St. Pats

€ 3 p.m., Wolfe Tones vs. St. Columbkilles
€ 4 p.m., North East champions Kerry (1999) take on the Intermediate Champions (1999) Connemara Gaels, who will be stepping up a grade.
All the clubs have been training hard for the past few weeks so it should all add up to a great weekend of football in Canton. The field is in excellent condition.
