In embattled North, a palpable sense of relief

BELFAST – Just a few people were dancing in the streets of Belfast on Saturday, May 24. Even though they were told that a major historic change had occurred with the strong endorsement of the Belfast Agreement, setting Northern Ireland on the path to peace, there was at the most a cautious optimism, tinged with just a little joy, and shot through with the usual Ulster wariness.
