DUBLIN — The impotence drug Viagra has arrived in Ireland and is being used on a limited basis by Dublin’s Wellman medical clinic, its director, Dr. Emad Massoud, said last week.

The so-called wonder drug has yet to be licensed for general use in Ireland and is being prescribed under a notification system to the Irish Medicines Board.

Viagra is being assessed via a central European procedure. If the decision is positive, the IMB will automatically authorize it for the Irish market.

The board refused to give details of how widespread its use is.
