And the result will be evident a few miles south of Garrison this Saturday. Sept. 26, when the inaugural Hudson Valley Irish Festival takes place at Peekskill Riverfront Green Park.
The park, located next to Route 9 and the Peekskill Metro North station on the Hudson Line, offers one of the most dramatic vistas on the Hudson River.
According to the organizers, the event will raise funds to support Irish music, art and culture in the lower Hudson Valley. The festival is a joint effort by AOH Division 18 Peekskill and the Peekskill St. Patrick’s Committee.
The musical line-up for the festival includes Shilelagh Law and the Ruffians while Irish step dancers and “massed” pipe bands are promised by organizers.
