International Camogie Weekend in Van Cortlandt

Softball tournament

GAA minor board

The GAA minor board of greater New York will hold its 6th annual fall dance and social on Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. at Gaelic Park Casino, 240th Street and Broadway, in the Bronx. The honorees will be Michael Forde and John Greaney. Dancing by the Michael Sheahan Variety band. Tickets cost $50 each.

Wheelchair competition

The Burke Rehabilitation Hospital will host a wheelchair competition on Friday evening, Sept. 15, and all day Saturday, Sept. 16. Events include a slalom course, javelin, table tennis, shot put, discus, club throw, weight lifting, softball throw and 60- and 1,500-meter races.

Fundraiser for Derry City

A fundraiser for Derry City Football Club will take place Oct. 13 in the Shannon Pub, Main Street, Snyder, near Buffalo, N.Y. Music will be provided by the Glengarry Bhoys, Fiona Molloy, Seamus Kennedy and Gerry McCrudden.

The fundraiser will also include raffles and an auction selling off items from team hats to the original signed manuscript of "The Town I Loved So Well" by Phil Coulter, who is the chairman of the Derry team.
