Ireland: not so corrupt

February 16, 2011

By Staff Reporter

Ireland scored moderately well in a survey about corruption released in August, when Transparency International, a think tank that monitors government corruption around the world, published its 2002 results.

The least corrupt country is Finland. Worst of all is Bangladesh, narrowly beating Nigeria, Paraguay and Angola.

Ireland comes in at 79th least corrupt. The U.K. does slightly better at 91, and Canada scored even better, at 95th, joint with Luxembourg and Holland.
