Irish government, aid agencies, respond to Haiti disaster

The technical team, which will be drawn from Irish Aid, the Irish government’s program for overseas development, will initially be charged with assessing needs on the ground, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Miche_l Martin and Minister of State for Overseas Development, Peter Power, jointly announced.
The Irish government has also pledged cash to GOAL and Concern.
Both are already rushing aid and resources to the stricken island nation where Concern has been working on the ground for a number of years.
