Rovers 3, Integral 1
Integral scored 20 minutes into the second half to take the lead, but this spurred on the Rovers to dominate the game and score three goals in 15 minutes to finish the season with a fantastic team effort. The first goal came from a great long ball by Dave Petitte to Andy Hill, who volleyed it home from 25 yards. Then Alex Byrne’s cross was met by the head of Tony O’Donnell for a well-taken goal. Antoin Diver finished off the scoring with the third. John O’Hagan worked relentlessly on the left wing, while Dave Petitte and Pat Brosnahan were solid at the back. Rovers play rivals Glen Cove midweek for the Super Cup and on Sunday, June 25, play in the State Cup final.
Rovers Reserves 4, Polenez 1
The Rovers were not to be denied in the League Cup final. Colm Saunders opened the scoring after 20 minutes. Mick Daly scored the second to leave the halftime score, 2-0. In the second half, a second from Saunders and one from hardworking forward Niall Coogan capped the scoring. Nick Sebastin and Willie Dempsey were rocks at the back, while Dean Gibson was super in midfield.
