Parlour Moms 2, Fiona’s 0

In the biggest game of the day, Parlour Moms gained a place in the playoffs with a convincing 2-0 victory over Fiona’s. Parlour began in a business-like mood and forced Fiona’s into a lot of mistakes. Mara Kaplan was having an excellent game for the Parlour in midfield. After 20 minutes the Parlour took the lead when winger Wendy Hollender got the ball on the right and took her opportunity to shoot. Her shot was well saved but the rebound fell to Lisa Moore, who made no mistake in putting her team in front. Fiona’s were always struggling to get into the game and went two down when Margaret Rozendall hit an unstoppable free kick into the Fiona’s net.

The second half continued as the first had finished, the only surprise was that Parlour didn’t score more. Parlour go into the playoffs where they will meet Southbend. Fiona’s will play in the Shield where they will play the winners of Gilligan’s and Lansdowne.

Beal Bocht 3, Gilligan’s 0

Beal Bocht made a strong surge toward the end of this campaign to make it to the playoffs. The return of Mary McEvoy and Michele Balin have made them strong contenders. This proved itself against Gilligans who had no answer to the Beal Bocht attack.
