Lansdowne, Beal Bocht reach final

Beal Bocht beat Parlour Moms, 1-0, Saturday in the Bronx Irish Soccer League semifinals. Beal Bocht played with only seven players, but scored early and held of the attacking Parlour Moms, who played with 10 women.

Pauline Devlin and Mary Touhey played brilliantly for the Beal, as did Jeanine Bean, Laura Gannon, and Brenda Walsh. Keeper Trish Halonen kept the Beal alive.

Meanwhile, Lansdowne beat Harps in overtime shootout, 4-3. The game was tied at 1-1 with neither team able to score in the first OT, which left them to a shoot out. Lansdowne was first on the board in regulation time with Bernie Boyle scoring in the first half. The Harps answered back within 5 minutes with Sandra Swinburne tying the game.

The cup final, between Beal Bocht and Lansdowne, is set for Saturday at 10 a.m.
