By Staff Reporter

Lansdowne 3, Ned Devine’s 3

Ned Devine’s was first on the board Saturday with Ann Ryan scoring off an assist from her sister, Margaret Ryan. The duo had control of the ball for about 20 yards while making there way toward the goal. Lansdowne evened the game up when Patty Barret was able to take advantage of the water in the goal box by letting the ball settle itself and then taking a shot on goal.

In the second half, Lansdowne’s Sarah Pierre scored off an assist from her fullback, Melissa Mann, but Ned Devine’s was quick to answer back with forward Margaret Fitzgerald making yet another fantastic run.

Lansdowne’s Kate Mcgrail was able to put her team back on top when she took control of a loose ball and found the back of the net. But, Ned Devine’s did not let up and were able to tie the game at the finish with a goal from Margaret Ryan, assisted by Margaret Fitzsimmons.

Parlour Moms 1, Velocity 0

These two evenly matched sides battled well into the second half before Parlour Moms’ Miss Gregory finally put one past Velocity goalkeeper Melissa Cardi from six yards out.

Cardi and her Parlour Moms counterpart, Karen Murphy, both played exceptional games.

Lisa Moore assisted on the goal.

Harps 5, Sean Og’s 0

The Harps found themselves faced with a goal box under water in the first half of the game, but that did not deter them from putting the offensive on and gaining a 3-0 lead. The Harps’ first goal came from striker Sandra Swinburne off an assist from halfback Judy Highsmith. Their second and third came from the other striker, Marybeth Gazlay, one on an assist from halfback Karen Price and the other off a pass from midfielder Hilary Potkewitz.

The Sean Og’s squad kept the pressure on especially with some plays by forward Theresa Doyle, halfback Lupa Hernandez and Francis Brennan, but the Harps were able to put two more in the goal for the win. The fourth goal was another great assist from Price, hitting Alyson Kaye in the middle of field and Kaye taking a shot to the top of the net. The fifth once again had Swinburne making a run to the right side of the field and taking a beautiful cross to the mouth of the goal.

Beal Bocht 3, Fagan’s 0

Fagans were unfortunate enough to put one in their own net for Beal Bocht at the start of the match. And despite goalkeeper Allison Leyden’s diving saves, Beal Bocht was able to poach two more.

Sophia Harvey scored the second goal of the half off an assist from sweeper Michelle Ballin. Fagan’s forward Justine Clifford had a great game but was just unable to capitalize on her efforts.

Beal Bocht’s Pauline Devlin scored the third goal of the game off an assist by midfielder Virginia Watson to secure the win.
