Irish exports fell last month, causing manufacturing to slowdown, according to statistics.

The economy’s manufacturing sector continued to expand, but slowly.

Order books were also full, although new orders were at their weakest since February this year.

Raw materials rose in cost, particularly oil.

Inflation fell slightly compared with July.

On the employment front, the number at work in manufacturing was up for the fourth month.
